Whether or not you are a Royal fan, the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is a great excuse to have a street party with all your neighbours and have some fun, plus with the majority of streets being clear of traffic, it is a great time for kids to play freely and safely!
Street parties are one of the great British traditions when it comes to celebrating the Royals or national events; it is simply the best way to bring people together, but to be true to the term ‘street party’ it has to be organised by residents for residents.
So what do you need when you are having a party? Decorations and, what’s practically compulsory at a British street party, bunting! In true Galt Style we have got our designer on the case so the kids can get involved with all the Royal Wedding shenanigans.
With only 22 days to go until they tie the knot, we have also launched Part 2 of the Wedding Scrapbook so your little ones can keep reporting on the progress of the Royal Wedding. Once again you will find all you need in our Activity Zone.
As you’ll see from the photo, our local Brownies Group, the 3rd Cheadle pack, got very busy yesterday with their Royal Wedding scrapbooks and party packs.
If you are planning a street party, or having a go at making our decorations or perhaps your own we would love to see the end result – please upload your Royal Wedding photos on our Facebook page.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have created a charitable gift fund to help celebrate their wedding. The fund focuses on assisting charities which support causes close to their hearts. Having been touched by the goodwill shown to them since their engagement, they
have asked that anyone wishing to send them a wedding gift, consider doing so
in the form of a donation to the fund. www.royalweddingcharityfund.org
